Kitchen News of real eastate, remodeling, and landscaping
Rick Glickman, president of Dream Kitchens in Skokie was chosen by Keith Orlofski, a partner in Chicago's Property One, to design all of the new units of a three-story, 25-unit apartment building in the process of a major renovation in Evanston.
Realtors agree that for buyers, the kitchen and bathrooms are the most important rooms in a home. Orlofski is well aware of this fact, so he turned to Glickman.
Orlofski chose Glickman to be his designer for several reasons. "We are excited about working with Dream Kitchens because of the quality of products they offer, the creativity and flexibility of their staff and their ability to provide an opportunity for our buyers to visit the Dream Kitchens showroom and choose upgrades to personalize their units," said Orlofski.
Another advantage is that Dream Kitchens coordinates the purchases and deliveries of products that are all in stock and warehoused nearby, thus cutting down on delivery time. The Skokie showroom functions as a one-stop design center for buyers, who can choose everything from cabinets to counter tops in one location.
The building is undergoing a complete rehab, keeping within its original charm, but updating all of the units with the latest technology. All units will be DSL-ready. Fundamentally mechanical systems such as fenestration, plumbing, heating and electric are being removed and replaced with new products. New landscaping will be installed and a new indoor parking garage with additional outdoor parking spaces is being built. Finally a basement storage room, meeting room, and exercise room are being added.
