Transitional White Kitchen With Decorative Wood Hood in Highland Park, IL Before and After Remodeling

In this kitchen remodeling in Highland Park, IL, the kitchen was extended towards the old dining area to better connect with the rest of the living/dining space and to provide more counter space. To gain more wall space, the door to the left of the hood was moved down and the peninsula’s shape was changed to continue straight. The main focal point is the decorative wood hood. The solid walnut top table is attached to the peninsula. The kitchen cabinets are painted white. The dark cabinets that replaced the pantry have a furniture-like feel, adding warmth to the room. Furniture-like demi tall cabinets on the left of the table provide extra storage. The wine station next to the refrigerator has that same dark wood finish.
